Choosing the right swimmsuit

Choosing the Right Swimsuit (or how I nearly gave up on summer in a fitting room) Summer is coming, temperatures are rising, and a little voice whispers: “It’s time to buy a new swimsuit.” Mistake. Terrible mistake.

Because buying a swimsuit isn’t just about picking out a piece of fabric. It’s an existential trial, a quest, a battle between your desire to feel fabulous… and the harsh reality of 360-degree mirrors.

🔍 Step 1: Scouting You start out full of hope: “This year, I want something simple, chic, flattering, and comfy.” Then you walk into the store and are immediately assaulted by: tiny strings that could barely hold a raisin, questionable prints (seriously, who asked for neon flamingos??), model names like: “Bold Brazilian,” “Wild Plunge,” or “Disco Triangle.” Strangely, none are called “Tummy-Concealing and Butt-Supporting.”

🧪 Step 2: The Fitting Room You walk into the fitting room full of determination. You come out… less optimistic. The one-piece makes you look like a professional swimmer… from 1972. The triangle bikini? Cute, but it threatens to declare independence at the slightest movement. The tankini? Practical… if you’re aiming for the “pregnant yoga teacher” look. And let’s talk about that fitting room lighting: It reveals body parts you didn’t even know existed — like the inner right knee.

🧘‍♀️ Step 3: Acceptance You eventually settle on a suit you can still breathe in, with a pattern that’s not too loud, and that doesn’t turn into dental floss every time you raise your arms. And you remember: The best swimsuit isn’t the one that changes your body. It’s the one that lets you dive into the water without spending 45 minutes hiding under a towel. 💡

In summary: 👙 The best swimsuit is the one that makes you want to jump in the water, not the one that forces you to hold your stomach in like you’re training for a free-diving championship.

☀️ Everyone has insecurities — but no one notices them when you’re laughing, sun-kissed, and eating ice cream with sandy feet. And no, you don’t need a “summer body” to wear a swimsuit. Do you have a body? Is it hot out? Boom — you’re good to go.
