How does too much information about sexuality change teenagers views?

With the advent and exponential development of social networks, adolescents are confronted with sexuality from an early age. Their vision of relationships between men and women is therefore much more sexualized from the preliminaries than was that of their elders.

In one generation, the sources have gone from simple images of nudity with magazines such as PLAYBOY or X-rated films on Friday evenings encrypted on Canal +, to live pornographic acts on YOUPORN, which can be watched at any time without filters, nor explanations. It is this too much information without consistency which skews adolescents’ relationships and which makes them lose the notion of the scope of their actions. They see sexuality as a simple passage, an unimportant act that must be passed but not felt. The whole aspect of mutual carnal pleasure gives way to a simple act of consumption.

The sexuality of adolescents is very similar to their ways of consuming social networks; they “scroll” their sexuality. They “like” or not the moment without understanding the scope of their actions. The age, the place and even the person do not matter. You have to be able to say that you did it. The Covid crisis contributed to this development, as adolescents could not see each other they had to develop a way of communicating and getting started as they could for the first time. Social networks showed them the path to unbridled sexuality and without a code of conduct.
